Description
14-18 Nottingham Street is a building composed of two parts. The northern or main section dates back to 1750, while the southern section was built in the early 19th century. The exterior is made of painted brick and features a slate roof. The roof of the northern section is steeply pitched and includes end and off-centre chimneys.
The building stands two and a half storeys tall and has four large 19th-century gabled dormers that cut through the coved eaves. There are four windows with modern casements. A notable feature is the fine pedimented 19th-century trellised doorcase, which has Gothic arched lights leading to the door. Additionally, there is a six-panelled door on the north side. The southern section has a roof with a shallow pitch and is two storeys high, featuring two windows with a mix of early 19th-century and modern casements.
Nos. 10 to 18 (even) and the White Lion Public House form a group with Nos. 37 and 37A.
