Description

A pair of cottages, dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with a pantile roof that replaced a previous thatched cover. Brick end and ridge stacks are present. Each cottage has a one-unit plan. The cottages are two storeys high with a two-window front. There’s a 20th-century door to the far left, topped with a wooden lintel. The ground and first floors feature three-light casement windows, also with wooden lintels. Dormer gables are visible on the first floor. Some brick details form the eaves. A single-storey extension on the far right includes a door and a one-light casement window, both with wooden lintels. The cottage to the left contains an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a chamfered spine beam.
