Description

Wyndham Lodge is a house likely built in 1867 on the site of an earlier building, with a date stone of 1874 on an end chimney. It is built in a style reminiscent of the 17th century. The house is constructed of coursed sandstone, featuring a double string course at the first-floor sill and one above the second floor. The facade has three gables. It is two storeys high, with an attic light within the outer gables. The central gable contains a plaque in a triangular recess. Balustraded steps lead to a recessed, arched entrance, which has rusticated detailing, carved impost bands, and a band of low relief carving above the doorway. The central section features five windows with mullions and transoms. On the west side of the ground floor is a square bay with a canted frieze above. The east side has a recessed section with two windows, followed by three further windows. The west side of the building features one window and modern additions. Wyndham Lodge, its steps and balustrade, and surrounding walls are grouped with The Stables (formerly the Outpatients Department).
