Description

Framland House is a large detached house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with light headers and features wide eaves supported by paired modillions. The house has a slate roof and stands three storeys tall with basements. It has four windows, with the southern bay of red brick being a slightly later addition. The original three bays have sash windows with glazing bars and rubbed red brick dressings. The entrance is an inset door with a stone architrave, cornice, and pilasters, accessed by a flight of stone steps. The door has six panels, with the top four now glazed, and is topped by a radial fanlight with tracery. All the listed buildings on Burton Street, including Framland House, form a group of local interest, particularly Nos 24 to 36 (even).
