Description
37 to 41 Burton Street is a late 18th century to early 19th century building made of red brick, featuring a moulded eaves cornice and a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and has three windows, which are sashes with three lights and glazing bars. Number 37 includes a mid-19th century shop window and door beneath a plain frieze and cornice, with an added fascia board above. Number 39 boasts a notable bow window with glazing bars. There is a segmental arched carriage entrance on the south side, and a central door with a rectangular fanlight that has arched panels. The doorcase is adorned with pilasters and a flat hood supported by brackets. Additional doors are located on the south side beneath the window cornice. A fire insurance mark is visible on the facade. The listed buildings on Burton Street form a group, with numbers 24 to 36 being of local interest.
