Description

The gatehouse to Old Hayes Farmhouse is a mid-18th century structure that serves as both a gatehouse and a bridge over a moat. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof. The building is small and square, positioned atop a brick bridge with segmental arches. There are semicircular headed archways at the front and back, providing access to the pathway; the front archway includes a planked door. The sides of the gatehouse are open above the bridge parapet and are screened by turned balusters.
