Description
The Grange is a house built in 1799, with some alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring stucco dressings and a slate roof, with a single brick wall stack. The building has three storeys plus a cellar and a three-bay front that includes a plinth, cill bands, and a cornice with modillions at the parapet.
The central doorway, which has been restored using matching materials, features a traceried fanlight and a pedimented doorcase. On either side of the doorway are full-height canted bay windows, with divided sashes in the upper sections. The first floor contains a central sash window with a moulded architrave and a plain cornice above it. The second floor has a smaller plain sash window, also with a moulded architrave. All bay windows are topped with rusticated splayed stucco lintels that have keyblocks. At the rear of the building, there is a lead rainwater hopper marked with the initials PC and the date 1799.
