Description
Manor Farmhouse, located on School Lane in Stapleton, is a house that dates back to the 16th century but was rebuilt in the 18th century, with further alterations in the early to mid to late 19th century and some reconstruction in the later 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof and brick end stacks. It stands two storeys high and features a black brick plinth. There is a slightly projecting gabled wing on the left side. The front of the house has an irregular arrangement of three windows, which include two and three light casements with segmental heads, as well as a small canted bay with a Swithland slate roof on the left. To the right of the center, there is a glazed door set within a gabled mid to late 19th-century brick porch. Inside, there is some evidence of 16th-century timber-framing.
