Description

Stapleton's Chantry is a house, probably dating from the late 17th century, with alterations from the 19th century. The house is timber-framed with rendered infill panels, and has an old plain-tile roof. A brick ridge stack is located centrally, and an end stack is present on the cross-wing to the right. The building follows a T-plan layout, with a cross-wing extending to the right. It is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window front facing the street. A four-panel door, covered by a lean-to hood supported on brackets and enclosed in a 20th-century glazed porch, is located to the right of centre. The windows are of irregular placement and are casements, with a bay window supported on brackets and casements to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
