Description

Swiss Cottage is a house built around 1870. It is constructed of red brick with light headers and features two storeys and three bays, with a central gable. Each bay contains a three-light casement window with Gothic pointed lights, which are topped with drop-ended hoodmoulds. There is an additional upper window in the gable. The west gable end has a fulrance, and a pair of axial stacks flank the central gable. This house may be one of those mentioned in White's Directory of 1879 as "recently rebuilt in a very tasteful manner by Earl Howe," and it certainly reflects the style of estate architecture.
