Description

No. 19 to 23 Market Place is a row of three dwellings dating from the late 17th century. The buildings are timber framed with brick panel infill set on a limestone plinth, topped with a thatched roof. It is possible that they were originally built as two pairs of dwellings, as the framing is interrupted and the floor and roof levels are discontinuous. The structure features tall panelling, which is subdivided in places by thin struts, and consists of seven bays. There are casement windows and plank doorways, along with four eyebrow dormers above that have leaded lights. The buildings also have gable and axial stacks.
