Description
The Old Black Horse Public House is a public house that was formerly used as dwellings, built in two distinct parts. The earliest section may have a core dating back to the 16th century but underwent extensive alterations in the early 19th century. The building features rough cast over brick with a plain tiled roof and is two storeys high throughout.
The left-hand section consists of four bays, each with sash windows that have flat splayed heads on both floors, along with a doorway to the left. The right-hand section has three bays, each topped with a coped gable and ball finials. This section also features 16-pane sash windows on each floor and a doorway located to the right of centre. A continuous string course rises to form hood moulds over the upper windows, and the building has both gable and axial stacks.
