Description
The Blue Lion Inn is a public house that was originally a house, built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof with brick stacks at both ends. The building stands two storeys high and has a regular three-window front, with 16-pane glazing bar sashes that are topped with rusticated wedge-shaped lintels and raised key blocks. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a pilastered and pedimented surround, which includes a fanlight with radiating glazing bars. To the left, there is a 19th-century single-storey, two-bay extension that also has glazing bar sashes. Additional 19th-century extensions can be found at the rear of the building. The interior was remodeled in the 1980s.
