Description

The Old Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It has a timber frame that has been overbuilt in Mount Sorrel granite and is colourwashed. The roof is made of Swithland slate and features a single red brick ridge stack. The building has a T-plan and is two storeys high with a two-bay front. Each floor has pairs of two-light glazing bar casements with timber lintels. In the rear range, broadly spaced bay posts can be seen, which now rest on a granite plinth and support a wall plate.
