Description
The Earl of Stamford Arms is a public house built in the late 18th century, with later alterations made in the 20th century. It features red brick in Flemish bond and a slate roof with two brick gable stacks. The building is two storeys high, plus attics, and has a three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century door set in a pedimented wooden surround with console brackets. This is flanked by single canted bay windows that have hipped slate roofs and glazing bar casements. On the first floor, there are four 20th-century transomed and mullioned glazing bar casements with segmental arched heads. The roof includes three 20th-century flat-roofed casement dormers.
