Description

The Tur Langton War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was unveiled in 1920. It is located prominently within the churchyard of the Church of St Andrew. The memorial is made from Cornish granite and features a rough-hewn, wheel-head cross. On the north face of the cross-head and shaft, there is a relief carving of the Sword of Sacrifice. The cross stands on a rough-hewn, square-sectioned plinth, which is set upon a single-stepped square base. The front face of the plinth is inscribed in leaded lettering, which reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN SACRED MEMORY OF/ (NAMES)/ WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918."
