Description

Manor House and Manor Cottage, originally perhaps a single dwelling, dates to 1636. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins and stone dressings, and have a Collyweston slate roof with stone and brick ridge stacks on the right, a left-end stack, and a rear gable end stack. A cross wing projects from the right end, with stone coped gables. There are 1½, 2, and 2½ storeys, featuring five three-light stone mullion windows, three of which are gabled dormers with hood moulds. One window is positioned just below the eaves, and another, also with a hood mould, is found in the cross wing, accompanied by a single-light window above it. On the ground floor, from left to right, are a four-light door with a six-panelled door and overlight, a four-light door with a six-panelled door, a single-light window, and a three-light window. The glazing bars of the overlight to the centre left window form diamonds. A moulded four-centred arch is above the centre right doorway, bearing the inscription "ANO DOMINI 1636 - R.S. - E.S.", though Pevsner notes this inscription was likely brought in from elsewhere.
