Description

Barnsdale House is an early 19th-century house located in Great Easton. It is constructed of ashlar and coursed rubble stone, with quoins and a Welsh slate hipped roof featuring two rendered ridge stacks. The facade, facing right, is of ashlar and has two storeys with five six-over-six sash windows. The windows have stone sills and lintels with keystones. A central stone porch with a hipped roof provides access to a six-panelled door with a fanlight, set within an early 19th-century style doorcase. A painted eaves cornice runs along the top. The left side of the house, facing the road, is of rubble stone and contains a six-panelled door and fanlight within a doorcase of early 19th-century design. There is a six-over-six sash window on both floors to the left and a blind first-floor window to the right. A single-storey extension is located to the rear. Inside, the house features a staircase with a mahogany rail and two fireplaces, all dating to the early 19th century.
