Description

The Old Homestead is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on Lutterworth Road in Gilmorton. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. The building has a single-depth plan and stands three storeys tall, characterized by a deep wooden eaves cornice supported by paired brackets. There is an end stack on the left side of the house. The front facade has a regular arrangement of three windows, which are glazing bar sashes with gauged flat-arched heads; the central window is narrower than the others. The entrance is marked by a central six-panelled door, which includes a transom light with lozenge glazing above, set within panelled reveals. A flat wooden hood supported by slim colonnettes and flattish volutes extends over the door.
