Description
Lloyds Bank, located at No 33 on the southwest side of The Square, was built in 1875 and is designed in the Venetian Gothic style. The building is constructed of painted brick with stone dressings and features a steeply pitched slate roof with stone coped gable ends and a stone chimney. It stands three storeys tall and has two windows beneath two gables. The top floor includes a two-light window with cusped heads and a roundel featuring low relief carving in the tympanum, all under a dripstone mould. The first floor has paired Gothic arched windows with dripstone moulds. On the ground floor, there is a later three-light bow window with a parapet and a cornice that extends across the width of the building. The side doors are Gothic arched with dripstone moulds, although one door is now blank. Steps lead up to the entrance.
