Description
No. 16 Main Street is a cottage dated 1790, constructed from coursed rubble stone with quoins and a Welsh slate roof, featuring brick stacks at the ends and rear. The building has stone-coped gables and is designed in an L shape, with a wing projecting to the right. The main range has its gable facing the front to the right and is two storeys high. On the first floor, there are two casement windows: a centre-opening three-light window and a two-light window. The ground floor features a similar three-light window and a four-panelled door, with the upper panels glazed, situated beneath a two-light window. The wing also has a three-light window on both floors. Projecting to the right from the end of the wing is a one-storey red brick extension with a corrugated tile roof and a plank door. There is a one-light casement window on the main range facing the gable, and on the gable of the wing, there is a stone tablet inscribed 'E.W. 1790'.
