Description

Vine Cottage is a house that likely dates from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of well-coursed and squared limestone rubble, with an internal cruck frame and a thatched roof. The building was raised in brick during the 19th century. It is two storeys high and has a two-unit plan. The doorway is located on the left side, leading into a cross passage. This bay is a distinct build from the rest of the house, made of less well-coursed rubble. On the ground floor, there are two three-light casement windows with timber lintels, and above them, there are two more windows in a heightening that is dated 1842 and features the initials IHD. The house has gable and axial stacks.
