Description

The Old Rectory is a house dating to around 1840. It is constructed of finely coursed limestone with a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of five bays, with the outer bays projecting as gabled wings. The windows are mullioned and transomed, with a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light window above in the projecting wings. A string course runs across the façade. The gables have recessed parapets. A central embattled porch features a four-centred archway with a shield within the spandrels of its squared hood mould, and a central door. The outer windows are mullioned. Upper windows are either one-light or three-lights, with the right-hand window being two mullioned and transomed. A small gablet emphasizes the centre of the building. All gables are topped with shaft-like pinnacles featuring crown decoration.
