Description

High House is a house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, with a rear wing added in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and two gable stacks. The south front features a first-floor band and a moulded cornice. The main two-and-a-half-storey, two-bay section has an off-centre doorway with a gabled brick round arch, a six-panel door, and a fanlight above. To the left of the doorway is a large tripartite glazing-bar sash window with a gauged brick segmental arch above. Above this window are two glazing-bar sashes with gauged brick flat arches. Further up are two smaller glazing-bar sashes with gauged brick flat arches. A lower, two-storey range extends to the rear, featuring a gable stack and a two-bay west front with two glazing-bar sashes and painted flat arches, each with an awning hood. Above these are two further glazing-bar sashes with painted flat arches. A lower addition is present to the left.
