Description
This bridge, located approximately 100 meters south of the end of Town Green Street in Rothley, was built in 1819. It is constructed from coursed squared granite rubble stone and red brick. The bridge features two segmental arches, with brick on the underside, and has cutwaters on either side along with three piers that extend into the parapet. The top of the parapet is finished with concrete, and the ends of the bridge are slightly splayed. A stone tablet on the downstream side is inscribed with the date 1819. The bridge spans Rothley Brook and was originally intended for access to Rothley Temple, which is now known as Rothley Court Hotel.
