Description

Number 81 and its attached outbuildings are a house dating from the 17th century. The house is constructed of timber framing with whitewashed brick and a granite rubble stone plinth in places, topped with a Roman tile roof. The roof is hipped on the right side, with brick ridge and end stacks. The main range includes a large carriage entrance on the right side. The front of the house has two storeys and three bays, featuring casement windows; three 3-light and one 2-light windows on the upper floor, and three 3-light windows with a glazed door in the centre on the ground floor. The front of the house displays fragmentary timber framing with diagonal braces, across ten panels. To the right of the carriage entrance, there are two windows above a single window. The left end of the house shows timber framing in one bay with a gable truss. A wing extends to the rear.
