Description
The lodge, turret, gate piers, and gates at Rothley Court Hotel were built around 1895, possibly by John Ely from Manchester. The structure is made of granite rubble stone with a stone band and features a Swithland slate roof, complemented by brick stacks on the sides and rear. The lodge has crow-stepped gables and is 1½ storeys high, showcasing a 3-light stone mullion window with leaded lights. Above this window, there is a pair of similar lancet windows. On the left side facing the drive, there is a door within a porch, along with a similar 2-light window and another pair of lancets above, set in a projecting gable. A linking wall between the right gate pier and the left side of the lodge features a Gothic arched doorway with a door. The drive is accessed through a pair of wrought iron gates. The left gate pier connects to a small round folly turret pier with a conical roof, approximately 2 meters in diameter. This structure is included for its group value.
