Description
The Free Trade Inn Public House is a public house dating from the late 16th or early 17th century. It features timber framing with a granite rubble stone plinth painted black, and whitewashed brick nogging. The roof is thatched, with rebuilt brick stacks at the left ridge and right end. The building has one and a half storeys and includes three three-light leaded casement windows, with a door located towards the right. There are two eyebrow dormers with two lights each above. The facade is divided into four bays by wall posts, with square panels in the two bays on the right side. Some braces are visible, and on the left end, there is a tie beam truss with a collar and braces. The gable on the left end features a door with a three-light casement, while the right end has a similar truss with a two-light window in the gable. There are 20th-century wings added to the rear. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam and an inglenook.
