Description
Shepshed Mill is a watermill and adjoining house located on Hathern Road, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and features Swithland slate roofs. The house is two stories tall with a three-window range, showcasing three-light windows beneath cambered heads. It has a central round-headed doorway with a six-panel door and a fanlight above. A brick dentil cornice runs along the top, and there are stacks at both ends. The mill, also two stories high, has a central access point flanked by two-light windows on both the ground and upper levels, along with a brick dentil cornice. Notably, it has an iron wheel with wooden vanes and unusual mill gearing.
