Description
No 2, Bridge Street is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier. It features a timber-framed structure with a rear cross wing and a steeply pitched thatched roof. The house has end chimneys located on the slope of the main roof pitch and a random granite rubble plinth. The substantial framing includes infill panels that are painted white over brick and rendering, with some visible carpenters' marks. The main facade consists of two bays with straight diagonal braces, and each bay has a blocked four-light mullioned window on the first floor. The house is now divided into one and a half storeys, with three-light casements on the ground floor and in the dormer on the street elevation. The west side elevation features a three-light window on each floor, and the rear cross wing has a dormer.
