Description
The Anchor Inn is a public house dating from the 18th century. It features a rendered and painted cream exterior with a hipped slate roof from the 19th century and a brick stack. The building is three storeys high and has a five-window range. There is a raised band between the first and second floors, and the windows are sash style with glazing bars. The ground floor windows have panelled shutters. The second floor has a shallower design with three shallow recesses alternating with windows. The eaves are wooden, and there is a 20th-century porch. To the right side, there is a lower 19th-century addition made of brick, also painted cream, with a slate roof. At the rear, there is a brick extension with a roof made of Swithland slate and plain tiles, featuring unglazed ventilators on the first floor.
