Description
Huncote Grange is a house that was described as "newly erected" in 1832 and incorporates much-altered remains of an earlier cottage. The building is constructed of brick and features a painted stone band at the first-floor sill level, with flat wooden eaves supported by small brackets. It has a hipped roof covered with 20th-century interlocking tiles and brick chimneys with chamfered corners.
The house is double-pile, three storeys high, and has three bays. The ground floor outer bays contain 4-light transomed wooden casements, while the upper storeys feature 3-pane sash windows, with the second-floor windows being square. All windows are adorned with gauged brick heads and painted stone sills. The central entrance consists of a 6-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight set in panelled reveals, which have reeded surrounds. The doorcase is a 20th-century wooden structure with ornamented pilaster strips, a frieze, and a flat wooden hood.
On the right side of the building, there is a central arched staircase window. The left side displays the projecting gable of the former cottage, which has a Swithland slate roof and 20th-century casements. Additionally, there is a 20th-century extension to the gable end.
