Description

Number 2 and the adjoining Horseshoe End is a house and cottage that have been converted into two houses. The building dates from the 17th century and 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a combination of timber framing and brick, with a rendered finish and plain tile roofs. The structure has two storeys and is arranged in a T-plan with six bays.

On the east side, there is a 20th-century lean-to porch on the right, which includes two casement windows, followed by a single casement. To the left, there are three two-light casements. On the upper floor, there are two two-light casements, with the right one being smaller, and a smaller casement in the gable. All these windows are from the 20th century.

The west side has a projecting gabled wing on the left, which features a lean-to addition in the return angle. To the right, there is a two-light 20th-century casement. Above this, there is a cross eaves 19th-century gabled dormer with a three-light casement. To the right, a 20th-century close boarded door is flanked by two single 20th-century two-light casements, and beyond, to the left, there is a similar casement. Above, there are three 20th-century two-light casements.

The south gable features a 20th-century half-glazed door on the right and a 20th-century casement on the left, with a two-light casement above on the right. The interior of Horseshoe End was extensively remodeled in the late 20th century.
