Description

The stables, coach house, and bakehouse at Hall Farm are early 18th century and early 19th century structures. They are built of brick and topped with a plain tile roof featuring dentillated eaves. The building is two stories high and has four unequal bays, arranged in an L-plan.

On the north side, there is a close boarded door on the right, flanked to the left by a blocked doorway and a three-light cross casement window with leaded glazing. To the right of the door, there are three three-light cross casements with segmental heads. To the left, a large pair of carriage doors with segmental heads and a wooden lintel are flanked by single doors, the right one having a segmental head. Above, to the right, is a three-light lead-glazed iron casement, with two two-light barred casements to its right. To the left, there is a square hatch above the carriage doors, flanked by a similar hatch on the left and a pattern of breathers on the right. In the return angle to the left, there is a broken-out doorway and a carriage opening, both with segmental heads.

On the south side, there is a casement on the left and two smaller casements with segmental heads on the right. Above these, there is a slightly off-centre loading door, with a breather and a two-light casement to its left. The west gable features a central plank door, above which is a three-light casement, and above that, a two-light casement, all with segmental heads.

The interior includes chamfered beams, a single purlin roof, gypsum plaster floors, and an oak stair. The west end houses the bakehouse, which contains a range, crane, oven, and three coppers, along with two beaded plank doors. Outside, to the west, there is a stone-coped brick boundary wall forming a square enclosure measuring 5 meters square. This building is included for its group value only.
