Description
The shelter south of Deercote is a late 18th-century structure originally built for deer, but it is now disused and partially collapsed. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped tiled roof. The building is single storey and has a curved plan. The rear and end walls are made of brick, while the elevation facing the deercote is open and supported by seven iron columns, although four additional columns have been lost due to the collapse at one end. There are tiny square openings in the rear wall and a feeding rack inside. Together with the deercote and a now-demolished range, this shelter once formed an almost completely enclosed oval enclosure. It is listed for its group value only.
