Description

PARISH OF INGLEBY MAIN STREET SK 32 NE 4/47 (North Side) Ingleby Cottage II

Pair of cottages, now one. C17 with later alterations. Rubble sandstone, timber framing with brick infil, extended in brick at the gable ends. Plain tile roof with brick gable stacks. Two storeys over a basement built into the hillside. Rubble sandstone walls to basement, box framing above with diagonal upward braces. The north elevation has four panels of timber framing with two horizontal posts. The ground floor has a C20 2-light casement and single lights, the first floor has two C20 single lights and two C20 2-light windows. The south elevation has four panels of timber framing. The ground floor has two single light windows flanked by two 2-light windows and a small segment headed fire bay window to right. The first floor has two 2-light windows. All windows to the south have C20 casements with diamond leaded lights. The interior has exposed ceiling beams.
