Description
39 Uttoxeter Road is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the mid-17th century. The building features a timber frame with brick and rendered infill, typical of box frame construction, and has a plain tile roof with the remnants of a coped gable on the east side and gable end stacks.
The structure is two storeys high, with the north elevation presenting three irregular bays. The exposed box frame is a notable feature. There is an off-centre 20th-century gabled stone and brick porch that leads to a studded plank door. To the right of the porch is a small pane square window, followed by a three-light wooden casement window. On the left side, there is a two-light wooden casement window and a brick lean-to that includes a two-light window. Above, there are two three-light wooden casement windows. The south and west walls of the building have been rebuilt in brick.
Inside, the cottage includes one stud partition cross wall and features chamfered beams.
