Description
Rose Cottage and the attached barn date from the early 18th century. They are constructed of red brick with stone dressings, featuring a plain tile roof and stone coped gables with plain kneelers. A central brick stack is present. The building has a chamfered plinth, a first-floor band, and a dentil eaves cornice. It is two storeys high and follows a lobby entrance plan, with a two-bay south elevation. There is a blocked central doorway with a keystone and a 20th-century doorway to the left. On either side of the central doorway, there are two 2-light casement windows under gauged brick heads with keystones. Above, there are two more 2-light windows under flat arches. The barn, which is attached to the left, has a timber-framed gable end that is visible from the interior. Inside the cottage, there are exposed beams and an inglenook.
