Description
Sudale and Hazeldene is a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century for the Every family of Egginton Hall. They are constructed from rendered brick with brick and tile dressings and feature a plain tile roof with rendered gable brick stacks. The cottages have a plinth and a plain band at the lintel level of the windows. Each cottage is a single bay and single storey with attics.
The front of the cottages includes a central blind semi-circular headed recess with brick sawtooth edging around the arch. Inside this recess are two semi-circular headed doorcases, which have radiating pointed brick voussoirs and raised imposts. Below these doorcases are blind fanlights and ogee panelled doors. On either side of the central recess are single four-centred arched recesses that contain 2-light casement windows, each set under a flat arch made of pointed brick voussoirs, similar to those found on the doorcases. Above, there are two half dormers featuring Y-tracery, four-centred arched windows with leaded lights.
