Description
Brookhouse Inn is a farmhouse that has been converted into a hotel. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and has undergone alterations in 1877 and later. The building is constructed of red brick and features a tiled roof with a parapet at the back and verge parapets, along with end stacks that are triple-shafted on the left side. The layout consists of two parallel ranges.
The inn stands three storeys high and has raised brick bands at the floor and ceiling levels. The front has three windows with segmental heads and cross-form small-pane casements, which are shorter on the top storey. There is a central entrance that includes a stone Tuscan porch with a frieze and cornice, inscribed and dated "DH 1877," leading to a six-panel door. To the right, there is a lower gabled wing that features a flat-roofed dormer and a verge parapet, as well as an addition that includes a coach entry covered way.
