Description
Ferndale Cottages is a row of three cottages, likely built together in the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The cottages have a timber frame with painted and rendered infill panels and a tiled roof. There are brick stacks at both ends and one stack to the left of the center. The building is two stories high and features a three-bay front with three tiers of large panels, which include diagonal braces at the cross wall divisions beneath the eaves. The right-hand bay is shorter than the others. Each bay has cast iron casement windows on both the ground and first floors, with gablets above that are decorated with curved braces. The entrances are located to the left of each bay, with the two outer entrances featuring 20th-century gabled porches, and all have 20th-century doors.
