Description
A terrace of three cottages located on Market Place in the parish of Melbourne, dating from the early 19th century, with later alterations. The buildings are constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and have plain tile roofs, featuring a brick ridge stack and a brick gable stack to the west, along with sawtooth eaves. Numbers 22 and 23 each have a single bay, while number 24 has an additional bay on the first floor due to a passage running through the buildings below. Number 22, on the east end, features a 20th-century panelled door to the east and a sash window with glazing bars to the west, with a matching window above. Number 23 has a similar appearance, but with the elements reversed, and retains an original flush panelled door. A plank door provides access to an alleyway, with a plain sash window positioned above. Number 24 has a flush panelled door to the east, a plain sash window to the west and a similar window above. All window and door openings are topped with rusticated wedge lintels incorporating keystones.
