Description

This is a late 18th-century house located in the parish of Shardlow and Great Wilne, built for the merchant Humphrey Moore. The house is constructed of red brick with gauged brick dressings, a brick plinth, and a hipped slate roof. It has two brick ridge stacks and a moulded timber eaves cornice.

The house is three storeys high and has three bays. A central doorcase features a pediment and pilasters, leading to a panelled door and a traceried overlight. Three steps lead up to the doorcase. Either side of the door are glazing bar sashes set beneath flat arches. Above the ground floor, there are three similar openings; the western window is a 20th-century small-pane casement, while the two eastern windows retain their original glazing bars. Above again, three shallower sashes with glazing bars are found.
