Description
Thatched Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse with a 20th-century addition and renovation. It features a box timber frame with brick nogging set on a stone plinth and red brick, topped with a plain tile roof and a large central brick ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan with an advanced 20th-century bay to the east and an original lobby entrance plan, consisting of a two-bay house to the west.
The south elevation includes a mid-19th-century gabled brick porch with a pointed door and pointed windows on either side. Flanking this porch are three-light 20th-century casement windows, while the eastern bay features glazed double doors facing west and a two-light window facing south. Above the western section, there are two 20th-century casements under eyebrow dormers, which are likely also from the 20th century. A similar window is found in the eastern bay under an eyebrow dormer, along with another in the south gable.
On the rear elevation, there are blocked remains of two two-light timber mullion windows and the original doorcase. Inside, there is one inglenook fireplace.
