Description
Silverhill Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with a large extension added in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of red brick, featuring brick and stone dressings, and has plain tile roofs. The original house has a large central brick ridge stack, while the extension also has a brick ridge stack. The original house showcases a dentilled eaves band and consists of two bays over two storeys plus garrets, while the extension to the east has four bays and is two storeys high.
The main elevation of the farmhouse has two 3-light casement windows with segment heads on the lower level and two similar windows above. The south gable wall features similar windows along with a 20th-century garret window. The 19th-century extension includes a tall segment-headed doorcase with a stone keystone, a glazed door, and a plain overlight to the west, as well as four 3-light casement windows under segment brick arches with stone keystones to the east. There is a similarly headed doorcase in the center of the extension, with four matching windows above. An attached barn to the east is not included in the listing.
