Description

No. 1 Canal Bank is an early 19th-century house, altered in later years. The building is constructed of rendered brick with a concrete tile roof, featuring a central brick ridge stack and stepped eaves. It is three storeys high and three bays wide. The central entrance has a 20th-century panelled door with a plain overlight, set beneath a wedge lintel with a slightly arched bottom edge on either side of the central keyblock. Flanking the entrance are glazing bar sashes, also beneath similar lintels. Above these are three further glazing bar sashes, except for those on the ground floor which have corniced keystones. A further set of three smaller glazing bar sashes are located in the uppermost storey, again with lintels similar to those on the ground floor.
