Description
Amber Lodge is a late 17th-century house with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed sandstone rubble with a slate roof. The original cross-wing, located at the left (west) side, features coped gables and a rear gable chimney. Two ridge chimneys are present on the main range to the right.
The west-facing side of the cross-wing has a single bay with three-light, chamfered mullioned windows; these have 20th-century false external shutters. A single-storey, gabled porch, also from the 20th century, is positioned to the right. The return wall on the left side of the cross-wing has a three-light, rebated, and chamfered mullioned window on both floors.
The adjoining main range, which appears to be from the 19th century, has four principal bays. The windows in this range have rock-faced lintels and are of uPVC construction. Two uPVC oriel windows are situated at the right, to the right of the second bay.
