Description

This footbridge, dating from the late 18th century, is constructed of ashlar gritstone. It features splayed abutments and low square piers topped with shallow pyramidal caps. The design includes a shallow single segmental arch. The footbridge spans a trackway, which has a raised embanked section, crossing the valley and the river Amber to the south-west of Ashover village. It served as the approach to one of the town's wells, known as the Old Woman's Well.
