Description
The Gardener's House is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, which was remodeled in the early 20th century. It is built of coursed squared coal measures sandstone and features quoins, a hipped tiled roof with deeply oversailing eaves, and two brick ridge stacks. The north elevation is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and five bays. The central doorway has a quoined surround, a deep lintel, and a panelled door. There are five 2-light flush mullioned windows, with their heads linked by a flat band course. Three of the four ground floor windows are now blocked, and the building has rectangular leaded lights throughout. It is listed for its group value only.
