Description

Ashmore House is a farmhouse built in 1675 and refronted in the early 19th century. It features coursed sandstone rubble with a coursed squared sandstone facade and sandstone dressings. The roof is made of 20th-century concrete tiles, with a lower slate roof, and has moulded stone copings and kneelers at the gables. There are stone gable end stacks. The building is two storeys high, with a single-storey stone slated addition to the south, and it has three bays.

The entrance has a flush doorcase with a 19th-century panelled door. On the north side, there are two glazing bar sash windows in raised plain surrounds, with a smaller sash window to the south. A similar large sash window is also located on the south side. Above these, three irregularly placed glazing bar sash windows are found in similar surrounds. The south gable wall features a blocked doorcase with a stone plaque inscribed 'FTM 1675'. Additionally, there is a single bay addition with recessed and chamfered single light windows on the east and west sides. The rear elevation includes two three-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, both containing some original glass in diamond leaded lights.
